In February 2019 the CEO of Vault Accounting approached me about creating a new website and developing their brand identity. They had plans to scale the business with the help of a friendly, modern website to reflect their increasingly tech-oriented brand. It needed to cater to their current, smaller clients while selling their services to larger, tech-oriented businesses. The client had no brand guidelines, marketing collateral and a single logo to begin with. I designed and built a responsive website, created graphics and compiled a strategy and style guide for future projects.

After interviewing the founder and several users we researched competitors to understand how to best position Vault. Our clients want a more modern, friendly approach to their finances. They need reminders and assistance with traditional accounting obligations but they’re searching for expertise and understanding beyond that. We discussed layout and content with the founder then presented him with two visual options.
With feedback from the discovery phase we began planning the architecture and outlining the content we would need. After making a content outline we chose photos, requested copy and created wireframes for the pages.
We landed on an image-focused look with minimal and clean palette anchored in muted blues and greys. Vault is looking to set themselves apart by being accessible, thoughtful and steadfast in a confusing, often antiquated space. We kept the site design simple and rooted in the "friends of friends" feel that Australian business is known for and left room for case studies to demonstrate this.
The site was built and hosted using Webflow. The brand deliverables were delivered with the site and included custom icons, illustrations, brand assets and photography.
The website increased traffic by 300%, helped introduce improved documentation and created a simple onboarding processes with clients.
