The Baked Goods mobile app lets users order Cannabis products alongside their favorite pastries from local bakeries in the same transaction. I worked with a small team of subcontractors to turn this concept around in just under two weeks

Brief

The client is looking to launch a new startup in the Cannabis space and needs help kick starting some of the product concept efforts. Deliverables included a few key screens for an investor presentation and a style guide to begin building their visual identity.

Project Goals

1. Design four key mobile screens for an upcoming presentation to potential investors.

2. Create a playful visual brand that “pops” when put next to other brands.

3. Determine basic brand guidelines and show several applications of the brand.

Design Considerations

1. Avoid the homogenous visual style often seen across the cannabis market.

2. Keep the unique value proposition at the centre of all brand messaging (weed + snacks).

3. Many users will be regular cannabis consumers so having detailed information on the cannabis profiles is important.

Research & Ideation

Our team gathered inspiration in Freehand for an initial meeting before creating a stylized moodboard for the client brand guide. We selected a color palette, evolved the brand marks and created wireframes for the mobile views.

Results & Deliverables

We produced five high fidelity MVP mobile app views and a brand style guide. The concept and designs were used to pitch investors at a local startup competition. Our designs received positive feedback and the founders plan to seek further funding.
