Two Hands

Two Hands is creating a protein marketplace that digitally connects fishers and farmers directly with high-end restaurants and consumers using the blockchain.  They are working to reinvent the supply chain by eliminating middlemen and optimizing traceability, food safety and authenticity. After getting initial funding from local Australian investors, they began to seek international investment in late 2019.

Brief

The Head of Marketing approached us to develop their brand identity, create a website that would help them land meetings with potential investors and redesign their pitch deck. Due to preexisting travel and meeting plans there was a looming deadline with very little flexibility.

Project Goals

1. Highlight the unique innovation at Two Hands
Differentiate the Two Hands brand from other seafood importers and blockchain startups.
2. Set an elevated tone for visuals across all touch points
Present two distinct visual directions based on the existing logo that will inform the website, pitch deck and identity design.
3. Expedite and simplify our process for quick turn around
Deliver the website, pitch deck and expanded visual brand on a tight timeline.

Competitive Analysis

We researched the branding, online presence and product design of several similar startups and seafood companies from around the world. Though there are no direct competitors for the Chinese market, it was important to understand how to differentiate visually from other companies.
Seafood from Norway is an international company focused on delivering seafood with distinct regional provenance to their customers. They have a great focus on the specific proteins sold.
Provenance begins to build a narrative as soon as visitors reach their page with compelling copy and a crisp hero background video.
Sea to Table is clear in communicating their mission, using simple but mouthwatering imagery to seemingly confirm their brand promise.

Learnings & Next Steps

Further research and validation is a big priority moving forward. Though we delivered the project on time and the client was very happy with the results, we didn’t explore our concepts thoroughly enough to set us up with a strong foundation moving forward. We intentionally simplified several aspects of ideation on revision, which we plan to revisit during the next phase of this project.
